I became captivated by the visual richness of quilts about 15 years ago. I soon became aware of the self expressive potential of the medium. There followed workshops, courses and mentoring with quilt and other artists with whom I studied color, techniques and design. Since my early retirement from a career in the public schools, I have been able to devote myself more fully to developing a body of work. I belong to a crit group which meets once a month to share info and encouragement. We call ourselves, "New Wrinkle". |

I am an avid quilter who is continually experimenting with surface materials and design. I love color, texture, and the tactile quality of textiles, and at present am hand dyeing, painting and stamping many of my fabrics, which I often then combine with commercial prints. My work is continuously evolving. It draws much of its inspiration from the shapes and colors found in nature and travel and also from the patterns and rhythms inherent in the juxtaposition of color and texture in the fabrics I choose to complete each piece. |
